Rookie receiver for the Huskie Football team, Ercy Avul takes home Athlete of the Week honours after making a pair of game-changing plays in the Huskies 38-33 Hardy Cup semifinal win over the UBC Thunderbirds last weekend. The Abbotsford, BC product's first big play came with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter when after an interception he forced the defender to fumble the ball, maintaining possession for the Dogs who trailed by nine at the time. With 22 seconds remaining he returned to the spotlight, hauling in a 33-yard touchdown to cut the Huskie deficit to just two points, setting up an eventual onside kick and walk-off touchdown.
