Fourth-year midfielder on the Huskie men’s soccer team, Ethan Cabral, takes home Athlete of the Week honours following a strong weekend at Griffiths Stadium. Friday night the East St. Paul, Manitoba product had a strong outing, helping the Dogs hold the U SPORTS No. 2-ranked UBC Thunderbirds to just two goals in a narrow loss. Two days later he was back on the pitch, this time getting onto the scoresheet in the Huskies 3-2 loss to the UNBC Timberwolves. Thanks to a penalty kick, Cabral connected for his fourth score of the season, a team-high, and good enough for third Canada West. One of the most relentless offensive players in the conference, Cabral also ranks among Canada West’s best in producing shots with 29 (3rd in CW).
