EDMONTON, Sask. -
Malcolm Rektor netted his first career goal in green and white to give the Huskies a 1-0 victory over the MacEwan Griffins, solidifying the season-sweep.
The match between divisional rivals was tightly contested, with both teams exchanging offensive opportunities through the game. The Huskies would finish the match with a 16-12 advantage in shots, with eight finding the target providing the visiting team with more scoring opportunities. The Griffins however, received more corner opportunities but were unable to beat goalkeeper
Jaron Slopinski who only had to make two saves on the day.
With the win the Huskies improve to 3-7-0 and jump the Griffins who fall to 2-6-1 and into last place in the Prairie Division. It was a crucial win for the Dogs who still have the playoffs in their sights, and now sit six points back of the final postseason position with four matches remaining.

Despite the loss, MacEwan goalkeeper Oleksandr Popravka was excellent in net for the home team, makign seven saves. At the other end, Slopinski earns the eighth clean sheet of his Huskie career and continues to climb the program record books.
