MBB: Huskies Drop 78-75 Decision to Dinos

SASKATOON, SK – The Saskatchewan Huskies (4-2) welcomed the Calgary Dinos (2-4) to Ron & Jane Graham Centre Court at the Physical Activity Complex Friday evening for game one of the weekend series. Headed into the game, the Huskies held a superior record over the Dinos, but when it came down to the final minutes Calgary would secure a 78-75 victory.  
 
THE HIGHLIGHTS 
·       Saskatchewan took the lead off the jump, outscoring the Dinos in both the first (24-19) and second quarter (41-31).  
·       Alexander Dewar (SSK) led the scoring race with a 17-point half.  
·       Returning from half-time, Calgary switched gears, turning the game around on the Huskies. The Dinos put up 19 points in the third, taking over the lead with only seconds to play. The Huskies were only able to add an additional nine points to their total by the end of the quarter.  
·       Nate Petrone (CGY) and Kymahni Bent (SSK) lead their respective teams in the final quarter, Petrone putting up eight points and Bent with nine in the final 10 minutes. 
 
THE STATS 
·       Alexander Dewar (SSK), Kymahni Bent (SSK), and Nate Petrone (CGY) each had a 17-point night. 
·       Javier Ramos-Yzquuierdo (CGY) and Dylan Lutes (CGY) lead in rebounds, each getting their hands on eight boards total. 
·       Calgary had 24 points scored off turnovers, Saskatchewan putting up 12.  
·       The Huskies had 19 fast break points, the Dinos with 10. 
 
THE STANDINGS 
The loss shifts Saskatchewan's record to 4-3 white the Dinos record improves to 3-4. 
 
NEXT UP
