MBB: Huskies Win 104-87 Against TWU Spartans

SASKATOON, SK – The Saskatchewan Huskies (3-11) were looking to grab the win at home against the fourth place Trinity Western Spartans (11-5) on Friday night at the Physical Activity Complex. The Huskies would set the court on fire, winning 104-87 over the Spartans. 
 
Trinity Western would be without their leading scorer, Mason Bourcier, who was listed as a scratch for Friday's game. The Huskies would start strong in the first quarter, going up 10-2 on the visiting Spartans. Noah Nickel and Fisayo Moibi would have back-to-back threes to put the Huskies 18-11. Austin Galuppo drained a three late in the quarter, but the Huskies would have the 24-17 lead after the first. 
 
Fisayo Moibi would drain an impressive three-pointer to end the half, sending the Huskies to the locker room with a 47-41 lead. Maxwell Amoafo led the Huskies at the half with 14 points and eight rebounds with Josh Belvin leading the way for the Spartans, with 13 points and six rebounds. 
 
Saskatchewan would bring the heat in the second half, pushing the Spartans to their limit. After leading by six at the half, the Huskies would extend their lead in the third quarter, driving to the net and capitalizing on every opportunity that came their way. Potoma, Moibi and Amoafo would be the stars of the third quarter for the Huskies, who would head into the fourth quarter with a 78-57 lead.
 
The fourth quarter would see Saskatchewan lean heavily on their bench. With a healthy lead, Head Coach Jamie Campbell called upon his bench to finish the game on a high point. Holding the lead the entire game, the Huskies would take the 104-87 win over the TWU Spartans.
 
The Huskies were led by Fisayo Moibi with 22 points, eight assists and four rebounds. Maxwell Amoafo would add a double-double, scoring 21 points, 13 rebounds, two steals and one block.  David Mutabazi would lead the Spartans with 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals, with teammate Josh Belvin adding 15 points, six rebounds and three steals.
