SASKATOON – Playing the two teams on either side of them in an incredibly close Canada West playoff race, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies men's soccer team will be looking to finish their regular season schedule with a bang this weekend.
Â
Hosting the Mount Royal Cougars on Friday night and the Calgary Dinos on Sunday afternoon, the Huskies will be fighting for the right to host a playoff game. Currently in third place, Saskatchewan (4-6-1) will be trying to leapfrog the Dinos (5-6-1) while also keeping a close eye on the Cougars (4-7-1) and the MacEwan Griffins (3-8-2).
The Huskies will come into the weekend with momentum on their side after they picked up an important four points on the road in Lethbridge last weekend.

 Â
Scouting the Cougars
Â
The club will enter friday night with the hope of a win to move them ahead of Saskatchewan in the standings. However, the Cougars have struggled recently as they currently sit with a 1-4-1 record in their last six games.
Â
Saskatchewan was defeated 3-2 by Mount Royal on Aug. 26, in their lone matchup of the season, and will be looking for revenge on home turf.
Â
Orest Ndabaneze has led the way up front for Mount Royal, as the striker has found the net four times this season.
Â
Between the pipes, Kyran Valley is one of only two Cougars to have started all 12 games so far this year, with the keeper recording a 4-7-1 record and a 1.92 goals against average.
Â
Scouting the Dinos
Â
Calgary has picked up positive results in three of their last four matches, with their lone loss coming at the hands of the Alberta Golden Bears. The Dinos will be aiming to clinch second place in the Prairie division this weekend, which would ensure the club the ability to play host to a Canada West quarter-final game on home field.
Â
The Huskies began their Canada West campaign on Aug. 25, with a 4-2 victory over the Dinos and they'll be looking to close out their regular season with the same result on Sunday afternoon.
Â
A pair of strikers are tied for the lead in team scoring, as rookie Derek Burst and Dominik Zuczek have each potted three goals for their club.
Â
Likewise with the Cougars, the Dinos have had consistency at the goalkeeper position all season long, as Jake Ruschowksi has started all 12 games for his club.
