Huskie Athlete of the Week (Feb. 27, 2023):
At the Canada West Track & Field Championship, Michael smashed a 50-year old Huskies record, with a massive jump of 7.59m in the long jump. He would win the gold medal and shoots to the top of the U SPORTS leader board in long jump.
Huskie Athlete of the Week (Feb. 16, 2022):
Michael Akintunde had a weekend to remember at the Panda Open. The second year athlete out of Saskatoon, continued his dominance of long jump in the Canada West, leaving the Panda Open with a gold medal. Akintunde inched closer to the Huskie record with a 7.41m jump. He also surpassed the USPORTS auto standard and is currently ranked 1st in the country in long jump.Â
