Huskie Athlete of the Week (Oct 8, 2019):
Rookie goalie Marcus Baxter was perfect on the weekend, stopping all shots fired his way to record a pair of shutouts.
The kinesiology student was solid Friday night, making an important save early in the contest and commanding his 18-yard box for multiple timely interceptions in a 1-0 win over Calgary Thursday night. Baxter backed up that performance with a five-save outing against the top team in the Prairie Division, the Mount Royal Cougars, to help Saskatchewan to another 1-0 victory. Baxter has now gone 270 minutes without allowing a goal.
Baxter and the Huskies are on a bye this weekend before returning to action for their final regular season games of the season against the Alberta Golden Bears (Oct. 19) and the MacEwan Griffins (Oct. 20).
