Huskie Athlete of the Week (January 22, 2018):

University of Saskatchewan goaltender Jordon Cooke helped the Huskies secure a home playoff date making 78 saves in a weekend sweep of the Calgary Dinos.

The fourth-year Business student from Leduc, Alta., made 38 of 39 saves in Friday''s 4-1 win. A night later, Cooke stopped all 40 shots he faced in a 2-0 victory. The shutout marked the 10th of his career tying him for the Huskie Athletics record and put him tied for third in the Canada West.

The pair of wins secured Saskatchewan a spot no lower than fourth in the men''s hockey standings and hosting duties in either the quarter-final or semifinal round.

Cooke and the No. 3 ranked Huskies will travel to Vancouver to meet the UBC Thunderbirds on the weekend. 

Huskie Athlete of the Week (April 3, 2017):

Jordon Cooke was named the Huskie Athletics Male Athlete of the Year for the second straight season.

The third-year business student was named the Canada West and U SPORTS Goaltender of the Year for the second straight season. Also named a First Team All-Canadian, Cooke posted a 19-4-2 record, a 1.94 goals against average and a .929 save percentage during the 2016-17 season. He posted four shutouts in the regular season tying a Canada West record, he added two more shutouts at the University Cup.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (December 5, 2016):

Third-year goaltender Jordon Cooke made 65 saves in a weekend sweep over rival the University of Alberta Golden Bears to put the Huskies in first place.  

The Leduc, Alta, product and reigning Canada West Player of the Year made 20 saves in Friday’s 4-1 win. On Saturday, Cooke recorded his second shutout of the season in a 4-0 win making 45 saves.  His only blemish in the weekend series was on a 2-on-1 shorthanded rush for the Golden Bears on Friday.

With the win, the No. 3 ranked Huskies are 10-3-2 at the December break. Cooke and the Huskies return to the ice on January 6 at home against the Mount Royal Cougars.
