Jacob is a second generation Huskie, and the oldest of eight kids. His parents Brett and Andrea played basketball for the Huskies, while his uncles Dan and Jon played football.
Played for the SK Selects during the summer of 2019. Played against; Calgary foothills (PDL Champions) and the Vancouver Whitecaps (U23) team, and Toronto FC II in front of crowds of 3000-4000 in Saskatoon.
Favourite moment as a Huskie:
Beating Trinity Western 1-0 (ranked #1) away, coming off a tough loss in the Okanagan.

Huskie Athlete of the Week (Aug 27, 2019):
University of Saskatchewan midfielder Jacob Powell had a strong start to the 2019 season last weekend, helping the Huskies to one win and one tie.
The fifth year from Coquitlam, B.C. played in all 180 minutes of the Huskies’ victory over the MacEwan Griffins (3-2) and tie with the Alberta Golden Bears (0-0). Powell recorded an assist on Friday and was a force in the midfield all weekend long, breaking down opposition attacks and creating opportunities for the Huskies.
Powell and the Huskies are back in action this coming weekend when they travel to face the Mount Royal Cougars (Aug. 31) and Calgary Dinos (Sep. 1).
