SASKATOON, Sask. - The Saskatchewan Huskies men's volleyball team delivered a composed and efficient performance Friday (Jan. 30) night at the Physical Activity Complex, sweeping the UFV Cascades in straight sets as the regular season home schedule neared its conclusion.

Saskatchewan controlled the match from start to finish, posting a .394 team hitting percentage while limiting UFV to .093 across three sets. The Huskies established the tone early, leading wire to wire in all three frames and never allowing the Cascades to build sustained momentum.

Offensively, Emmett Graham led all players with 12 kills, hitting .450 while adding a block assist. Isaiah Mamer followed closely with 10 kills on .444 hitting, while Mathieu Methot chipped in seven kills, a service ace, and two block assists. Saskatchewan finished the night with 40 kills and just 12 attack errors on 71 attempts.

Senior setter Noah Opseth anchored the Huskies' offense, recording 27 assists to efficiently distribute the ball and keep UFV off balance. Opseth also added three digs as he continues his late season push toward the program's career assists record.

Saskatchewan set the tone in the opening set by hitting .500, then maintained control through disciplined serve pressure and steady net play in the second and third. The Huskies finished with eight total blocks and forced UFV into 16 service errors, limiting scoring runs from the visitors.

UFV was led offensively by Roan McCarthy, who finished with eight kills and 10 points, while Silas Van Huizen directed the Cascades' offense with 16 assists.

Defensively, Saskatchewan received steady backcourt contributions from Ethan Smith, who recorded a team high seven digs, while Aaron Elser and Emmett Graham added timely defensive plays throughout the match.

With the win, the Huskies continue to build momentum as postseason positioning tightens. Saskatchewan and UFV will meet again tomorrow (Jan. 31) at 4:30pm in the PAC before the Huskies close the regular season on the road next weekend.
