LANGLEY, B.C. - With a strong block and serving game the No. 8 Trinity Western Spartans earned a straight-set victory over the No. 7 Saskatchewan Huskies Friday night at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C. With the 25-11, 25-21, 25-20 win Spartans improve to 12-7, while the Huskies drop to 13-6.
Third-year outside Kaden Schmidt with 12 kills, five digs, and two aces, and second-year outside Piers De Greef with seven kills, five digs, one block and one ace led the Spartans. While
Emmett Graham with 15 kills, and two blocks, and
Isaiah Mamer with eight kills, and five digs led the Huskies.
Fourth-year setter Anselm Rein finished with 28 set assists running the Spartans attack. While
Noah Opseth finished with 26 assists for the Huskies.
The Spartans and Huskies will finish the weekend series tomorrow night with the final games of Canada West conference play. The match time is set for 4 p.m. (PT) and will be streamed live on Canada West TV.
