EDMONTON, Alta. -
Kalin Roberts and Autumn Wynn stopped five shots each, as the Saskatchewan Huskies and Alberta Pandas fought to a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon at Foote Field.
The contest between prairie rivals was as close as a scoreless match could be, with possession, shots, and scoring chances all being relatively even. The Huskies finished with a 16-11 shot advantage, with both teams firing five shots on target. Alberta arguably earned more scoring opportunities, but none were able to get past Roberts in the Saskatchewan net.
The draw sees the Huskies move to 4-1-2, while the Pandas go to 4-2-1.
Saskatchewan was able to generate more traffic and ball pressure inside Pandas territory, forcing Wynn to make a handful of tough stops from in tight. Her clean sheet is the 7th of her career, and third of 2024.
Alberta's best looks in the first half came from stretch passes to their forwards resulting in good looks on goal. A shot from inside the box early in the first half hit the side of the cage in what was arguably their best chance of the first 45.
Kalin Roberts would hold in net, recording her 7th career clean sheet.
After the Huskies finished with a 9-4 shot edge in the first half, both teams fired seven shots on goal in the second. The best scoring chance for either same came in extra time, as the Huskies pressured the Pandas. However they were unable to get any shots on net in the dying seconds.
