THE STANDINGS
The win improves the Huskies to 14-5-0, still fifth in the conference, but with upcoming games in hand, with each team placing higher in the standings. The Griffin's loss will shift them to 6-16-1, but remain three points ahead of Regina (4-15-2) for the final post-season position in Canada West.
THE NEXT ONE
The two teams will return to the ice in downtown Edmonton for game two where the Huskies look to sweep the Griffins in the weekend series with a second win on the road before returning home. Fans can catch the action live on CanadaWest.TV or listen in on the Huskie Fan app.
