SASKATOON, SK – After an exciting game Friday evening with the Saskatchewan Huskies coming out on top over the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat 79-74, the two teams were ready to battle it out for a second round at Ron & Jane Graham Centre Court at the Physical Activity Complex Saturday evening. The Heat never backed down, but the Huskies would distinguish the Heat 98-83 by the night's end.
THE HIGHLIGHTS

The Heat found themselves in the initial lead after Jalen Shirley (UBCO) hit a three in the first possession to open the scoring. The Heat would only hold the lead for a minute before the Huskies would gain control in a similar fashion to the previous evening's game. Chan De Ciman would lead the Huskies through the quarter, scoring 9 points in 9 point attempts, outscoring the Heat 29-20 by the end of the quarter.

Both teams would continue to push through the second, but the Huskies would keep the Heat at bay, holding a 10-point lead for a large portion of the quarter, finishing the half with a 57-48 lead over the Heat. Alexander Dewar (SSK) would lead the scoring at the half, putting up 19 points in the first 20 minutes.

Saskatchewan would continue to control the game in the third. Both teams' efforts were apparent, but the Heat could not keep pace with the Huskies, finding themselves in a 16-point defecate (78-62) in the final minutes of play in the third.

The Heat would continue to push pack, bringing the game back within 5 scoring opportunities after five minutes of play in the fourth, but the Huskies would close out the game 98-83.

Alexander Dewar (SSK) would once again lead the scoring race, putting up an impressive 38 points and shooting 70.6% in field goals and 78.6% from the line.

The win will improve the Huskies record to 8-4 while the Heat will shift to 2-10. The Huskies currently sit in 7th in the Canada West rankings.
