Box Score CALGARY, AB – The University of Saskatchewan Huskies endured a highly physical match this Sunday afternoon at Stadium Field in Calgary Alberta which resulted in a fall to the Cougars.
The Mount Royal Cougars were able to strike first with a penalty kick goal by Mohamed El Gandour in the 18
thminute. Cougars added to their lead in the 32
nd minute with a goal by David Schaefer.

Ahmed Mohammed out of Bethlehem Catholic High School put the Huskies on the board late in the 1
st half. Mohammed sent a strong ball to the back of the Cougars net with no goalkeeper in to stop him in the 43
rd minute.

Jaron Slopinski got the start in goal for the Huskies. Sterling King got the start for the Cougars.
Early in the second half the Huskies capitalized on an opportunity to tie up the match with a corner kick quickly followed up with a goal by
Diego Reveco, assisted by
Fraser McLeod in the 63
rd minute.
After some back-and-forth physicality from both teams,
Ekior-Dourde Mieyefa was shown a red card in the 71
stminute. This allowed Mohamed El Gandour to bring the Cougars back in front with another penalty kick goal in the 72
nd minute.
David Schaefer of the Cougars was able to send in another goal in the 87
th minute to add to the MRU lead.
The Huskies battled through physical challenges up until the last-minute of play but ultimately fell to the Cougars in Calgary. Final score: Huskies 2 - Cougars 4.
