The University of Saskatchewan Huskies men's hockey team was dominant from start to finish, defeating the visiting Regina Cougars in decisive fashion with a 12-1 win.
Vince Loschiavo and Connor Hobbs each recorded two goals on the night, while Justin Ball, Donovan Neuls, Wyatt Johnson, Jeff Faith, and Carter Folk all also found the back of the net for Saskatchewan in the win.
Goaltenders Adam Evanoff and Travis Child split the action between the pipes, with the pair making 10 saves on 11 shots for the Huskies.
The contest, which was their third of the preseason thus far, was an impressive performance top-to-bottom for Saskatchewan.
Two goals in the first four minutes helped set the tone and got the Dogs out to the early lead thanks to Loschiavo and Ball and from then on it was all Huskies.
After leading 4-1 through twenty, they tacked on another two in the second, before five more in the third.
Perhaps the story of the night however was Johnson. The third-year forward was injured for the majority of the 2019-20 season, playing only six games. But tonight, he found the back of the net for the first time in the green and white in 705 days, with his first tally since Oct. 19, 2019.
The Huskies now hold a 2-1-0 record through their ten-game preseason schedule, which will continue Saturday afternoon in Regina as they complete the home-and-home with the Cougars.
