CALGARY - The Saskatchewan Huskies fell in straight sets Saturday night, dropping a 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-19) decision to the Mount Royal Cougars.

For Mount Royal, fifth year Chantel Park led with 17.5 points and 16 kills, followed by Cassidy Kitchen with 11 points and nine kills. For Saskatchewan,
Emily Koshinsky led with 18 points and kills, closely followed by
Olivia Mattern with 16 points and 15 kills.

Mount Royal out-hit Saskatchewan .327 to .250 in the game while also recording five service aces and putting up a perfect serve reception game.

The result muddies the playoff picture in the Canada West conference. Saskatchewan, sitting at 9-9 remains tied with Calgary for sixth place. However, Mount Royal looms large right those teams with a mark of 8-12.

With the loss Saskatchewan moves to 12-8 on the year, comfortably sixth in the conference holding a six-point advantage on the seventh place UBC Thunderbirds.

The Huskies will now return to Saskatoon for their final home games of the regular season when they take on the 14-6 Alberta Pandas Feb. 7-8.
