A pair of fourth quarter comebacks lifted the Huskies (9-7) to a weekend sweep of the Mount Royal Cougars in their last action. Up next for the team is a visit from the Alberta Golden Bears (12-4) who have already clinched a playoff spot and are coming off a split with UNBC last weekend.Â

Playoff positioning will be on the line this coming weekend when the Huskies (14-6-2) head to Vancouver for a pair of games with the Thunderbirds (13-5-4). After a sweep of the Lethbridge Pronghorns last weekend, Saskatchewan sits just one point behind UBC for third in the conference after the Thunderbirds could only manage a split with Calgary in their last action.

A weekend sweep that saw them outscore Lethbridge 11-5 over two games allowed the Huskies (18-3-0) to remain atop the Canada West conference by one point over rivals Alberta. The team will now return home to face the UBC Thunderbirds (11-9-2) a squad that they swept in Vancouver earlier this season by scores of 6-1 and 3-2.

Track and Field:
Jan. 25-26: vs. Knights of Columbus Games, Saskatoon Field House
Three meets records and 17 medals was the haul for Track & Field from the Golden Bears Open in Edmonton this past weekend. They will look to carry that momentum forward in the Knights of Columbus Games at the Field House this coming weekend.

A split at home with the Manitoba Bisons was key for the Huskies (7-11) who moved to just two points outside a playoff spot. It will be another difficult weekend ahead for Saskatchewan when they travel to Edmonton to take on a Pandas (13-5) squad that split with the reigning Canada West Champion Calgary Dinos last weekend.

A pair of meets in Abbotsford are ahead for a Huskies team that saw their women finish first and their men second at the Golden Bears Invitational in their last action. This will be their fine tune-up weekend before the Canada West Championships get underway on Feb. 8 & 9.
