SASKATOON - It will be a return to home for a University of Saskatchewan Huskies men's basketball team that has played six of their eight games so far this season away from the friendly confines of Ron & Jane Graham Centre Court inside the PAC.

Not only have the Huskies been on the road, their competition has been tough as the team has gone 1-3 over the last two weekends in games against the 8-0 Calgary Dinos and 5-3 Winnipeg Wesmen. The Huskies have been in and out of the U SPORTS national top 10 coaches poll throughout the season and will be hoping that this weekend can get them back on track. They currently sit in a three-way tie for ninth in the Canada West conference, knotted up at 4-4 with the Mount Royal Cougars and Fraser Valley Cascades.

Meanwhile, Brandon is off to a slow start, as the team that has made the playoffs for the past two-straight seasons is currently 1-5 and 15th in the 17 team conference.

Saskatchewan and Brandon matched up near the tail end of the 2017-18 season at the Healthy Living Centre, with the Huskies coming out with consecutive 81-79 and 84-80 victories on the road.

Five Things

1: Saskatchewan returns home after a four-game road swing where they went 1-3.

2: There should be plenty of scoring opportunities as both teams sit in the bottom four of the Canada West conference in points per game allowed.

3: Lawrence Moore was named the CW First Star of the Week for his 57 point, 15 rebound effort in Winnipeg last weekend.

4: The Huskies are 2-0 at home so far this season while the Bobcats are 0-2 on the road.

5: Both of these teams have made the playoffs for the past two season in a row.

By the Numbers

3 – Saskatchewan sits in the top five in three major individual statistical categories in the conference. Lawrence Moore is second with 21.4 points per game, Joseph Barker is fourth with 9.4 rebounds per game and Maxwell Amoafo leads the conference with a 66.7 field goal percentage.

10 – The Huskies have won the past ten regular season meetings between the two teams.

7 – Saskatchewan sits in the top five in seven major team statistical categories in the conference.

30+ –  Lawrence Moore and JT Robinson have game-high point totals of 41 and 31 respectively in Winnipeg.

Scouting the Bobcats

Brandon has made the postseason in back-to-back years, finishing with identical 9-11 records over that span.

The Bobcats are 0-2 away from home this season, falling 84-79 and 83-82 to the UBCO Heat in their only previous road swing.

The only player in the conference scoring more points per game than Lawrence Moore is Tyvon Cooper of the Bobcats. He leads Canada West with a 24.5 mark.
