After being hit from behind in the corner, Andrew Johnson gave Saskatchewan 2-0 lead. Jumping back into the play, Johnson tapped in a rebound on a shot from the point just 53 seconds into the second frame. Parker Thomas extended the Huskies' lead to 3-0 deflecting a Jesse Forsberg shot from at 13:37 in the frame.
