Box Score The Mount Royal University Cougars became the first team in the 2014 Canada West men's soccer season to defeat the No. 4 ranked University of Saskatchewan Huskies with a 2-1 victory in Calgary Saturday afternoon.
Goals from Ryan Clancy (57') and Brendan Canejo (65') helped the Cougars secure their second win of the season. Tyler Redl (26') scored the lone goal for the Huskies.
Saskatchewan opened the scoring early on a cross from Luigi Bekwayo. Redl was able to convert it to earn his sixth goal of the season.

In the second half, Clancy scored his first of the season in the 57th minute to square the match at one. Eight minutes later in the 65th minute the Cougars took the lead. Canejo took the feed from Mike Stacey and gave the Cougars the lead.
Already clinching first in the prairie division, the Huskies move to 9-1-1 with one match remaining in the Canada West season. Mount Royal is 2-8-1.
The Huskies and Cougars will play the final match of the season at 2:30pm at MRU Stadium Field Sunday.
