THE HEADLINES• Saskatchewan (No. 8) is one of three Canada West teams to hold a spot in the CIS Top 10. Calgary (No. 5) and Manitoba (No. 9) join the Huskies in the national rankings.
• Saskatchewan’s 31-11 win in October of 2009 was the last time the Huskies won in Winnipeg.
• Manitoba is 1-0 at the new Investors Group Field.

NO. 8 UNIVERSITY OF SASKATCHEWAN HUSKIES (1-0)Next Week: at Calgary Dinos
After holding on for a 40-33 win over the Regina Rams last week, the Huskies will look to get their first win in Manitoba since 2009.
Quarterback Drew Burko went 23-for-35 for 267 yards in the conference opener against the Rams with three touchdown passes to Mitch Stevens. Stevens led the Huskie receiving corps with five catches for 83 yards. Running backs Shane Buchanan and Dexter Janke combined for 224 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The Huskies will need a strong defensive performance from a young group to slow down a Bison offence that went off for 65 points in week one against Alberta. Saskatchewan forced four interceptions against Regina last week and continually pressured the quarterback, leading to five sacks.
No. 9 UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA BISONSNext Week: at UBC Thunderbirds
After exploding for 628 yards of offence in a 65-41 week one win over Alberta, the Bisons aim for a second straight win at Investors Group Field.
Manitoba dominated the line of scrimmage combining to rush for 400 yards. Anthony Coombs led all rushers with 241 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries on his way to being named Canada West Offensive Player of the Week. Jordan Yantz was 14-of-19 with 215 yards and four touchdowns for the Bisons.
Brett MacFarlane recorded nine tackles and a forced fumble for a Bisons defence that will look to tighten up after allowing Golden Bears offence to put up 41 points on 618 yards.
