This past weekend at the Golden Bear Open in Edmonton, fifth-year heptathlete Jake Neufeld put on one of the best performances the USask track & field program has seen in the combined event. Neufeld captured gold in the second meet of the season after totaling 5,162 points which included wins in the high jump and pole vault. In addition to earning nationals qualification by meeting the U SPORTS auto standard, the local Saskatoon product made his way into third-place in the Huskie career record books and sits just 90 points short of second and 97 back of Kieran Johnston for the top spot.
