Fourth-year middle distance runner Avery Pearson takes home Huskie Athlete of the Week honours following a fantastic USask track & field season debut. The defending national champion in the 1000m and conference champion in the 600m, Pearson earned gold in both events this past weekend in the Sanderson classic. In addition to winning the events, the product of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, also earned U SPORTS Auto Standard and qualification for the national championships with a time of 1:29.34 in the 600m and 2:46.83 in the 1000m.
